My secret hiding place

This is something I've been thinking about for a while now. I need my own space where I can go to relax. Every mom needs that. I was hoping that the spare room downstairs might be a good hideaway. There are no computers, or video games to bother me. There is a nice comfy chair to sit back with a nice book. And, there are always toys on the floor. No matter how many times I clean that room, and tell the boys not to take their toys in there, it still becomes a mess.

I'm beginning to give up on my bedroom being a place of relaxation. I can't relax when there is clutter.

That leaves the bathroom. I can't tell you how many times I've stayed in the bathroom just a little longer than necessary in order to escape. One of our bathrooms has this annoyingly loud fan that comes on when you turn on the light. I used to hate that it was so loud. However, when you are in there with the fan on, you can't hear anything else that is going on (like kids fighting and whining). So it got me thinking. How would I turn a bathroom into my personal getaway?

First of all, I'd somehow make the fan sound more like ocean waves. And maybe there could be a special scent like coconut to go along with the ocean waves fan. Or maybe I could get one of those pictures that hang on the wall that have peaceful scenes that move. Maybe the fan could sound like rain falling and the scent would be fresh mountain air. Maybe Mozart could play softly when you turn on the fan and there would be a vanilla scent throughout the room. Maybe there could be a bowl of chocolates in the bathroom. Maybe there could be a special seat cover that is plush and relaxing to sit on. (so you don't really have to go while you're in there, you just say you need to go).

Some day I will get my own personal space where I don't have to look at toys, laundry, or kids whining. For the time being I still have my chocolate, and a good book so I can escape into a fictional world.

And I will always have my bathroom. Gotta go!
