Bum wars

Nursing.
How do you nurse a baby with 2 other kids running around?
Mere minutes after I sat down to feed Timmy, Thomas announced that he "needed to go stinky". So. Do I..
A) keep feeding the baby since he has a good latch or
B) put him down and go help a 3 year old go stinky in the toilet?
I opted for choice A, and had Matt help Thomas.

Matt promptly plugged his nose and went to go help. I hear a conversation about things being stinky and Thomas being proud of himself. Then I tell Matt to help Thomas wipe his bum. Thomas instantly argues saying he doesn't need help and an argument starts. Then I hear myself yell something that no mom should say. "Stop fighting over who gets to wipe your bum!" Oh well. Then after that there was...

Silence.
Just silence.

Now as a mom of little kids you know that silence can often be worse than fighting. Actually, let me correct that. Silence followed by giggling can be worse.

Again, do I put the baby down and go inspect? I still opted for choice B and hoped that there wasn't a disgusting mess to clean up. The boys came out of the bathroom and were happy with a job done well. I was happy there was no mess.

Well, except for the water splatters on the bathroom mirror. Why, when they wash their hands, can't they just dry them with a towel instead of shaking them at the mirror? They do try to clean things up though. Like when Thomas tried to clean the bathroom mirror with the toilet bowl brush.

Some entertaining Twilight links

So after I read one of the Twilight books I'm always in this vampire phase for a few days. I blog hop around to different places talking about Twilight. So the other day I came across a blog called "Normal Mormon Husbands". Anyway, apparently this guy has read the Twilight books and has a few things to say about them. A few months ago he blogged about Jacob and Edward and how irritated he was because all these women out there were soooo in love with them. Read here to see what he said about them (J & E). Then he wrote about the "cold, hard truth about Edward". It's pretty funny. Just recently he took it upon himself to write the chapter headings for his own version of Breaking Dawn. Here are the links for his spoof:
Part one:http://mormonhusbands.blogspot.com/2008/07/breaking-dawn-spoof-part-i.html
part two:http://mormonhusbands.blogspot.com/2008/07/breaking-dawn-spoof-part-ii.html
part three: http://mormonhusbands.blogspot.com/2008/07/breaking-dawn-spoof-part-iii-dramatic.html

Don't worry about any spoilers. This was written before the real book came out, and trust me, it has nothing to do with the real book. It is entertaining though.

It's all done, but certainly not the end

So I'm done. With the book that is. Is anyone else done reading Breaking Dawn? If so, and you want to talk about it, call me or send an email (probably better keep our comments here on the blog spoiler free). I'm curious what the thoughts are from others who have read the books.

But of course this is not the end of Bella and Edward. We get to look forward to The Twilight Saga: the oficial guide coming Dec. 30th. There's always Midnight Sun (read the first chapter here) coming at some future release. And of course there's the movie Twilight being released on Dec 12th.

"I think I like him"

The prayers of kids are really cute. For the past few months the boys have been including the baby in their prayers. Here are some examples of things they've said over the past few months.

( Pre-birth)
"Please bless the baby so he can grow really big"
"Please bless the baby so he can get the energy he needs"
"Please bless the baby so he can get a lot of energy and run faster than Matt"
"Please bless the baby to come out soon"
"Please bless Mommy so she can have the energy she needs"

(Now that he is here)
"Please bless the baby to sleep a long time"
"Please bless the baby to eat and grow so he can get bigger than Mommy"
"We're thankful that the baby came home from the Dr office"
"Please bless Timothy to get bigger so he can play the Playstation"
"Please bless me to like the baby. I think I already do"
