Today the boys started school. Yippee!!! I don't know who was more excited...me or them. Probably me.
We have to wake up at 7 AM and leave at 7:30 to walk to our bus stop. They take a private bus that looks like a tour bus. Thomas was hoping for a double decker bus. It's a long bus ride and they are not allowed to sit next to each other (my rule, because otherwise they would fight). I made Thomas a 'French Car Bingo' game with a bunch of car symbols that he would see along the way. He gave me a big hug while I was making it and exclaimed, "You're the best mom ever!" Is that all it takes? Making a car bingo game? Big boy starting Kindergarten
When we arrived at the bus stop there were some of the same kids and some new ones. They're all much older than the boys (like high school), but they're all boys. Thomas and Matt like having an "all boy bus stop". There was a mom there with her two boys who looked like college students they were so tall. It humored me to see her lecturing her boys like I do, despite the fact that they both towered over her. Then as the bus pulled away, I saw her shed a few tears for her boys. I wonder if I'll still cry on the first day of school when my boys are 15 and 17.
Life is so much more peaceful around here now. I'm looking forward to discovering Paris with Timmy.
