Nursing.
How do you nurse a baby with 2 other kids running around?
Mere minutes after I sat down to feed Timmy, Thomas announced that he "needed to go stinky". So. Do I..
A) keep feeding the baby since he has a good latch or
B) put him down and go help a 3 year old go stinky in the toilet?
I opted for choice A, and had Matt help Thomas.
Matt promptly plugged his nose and went to go help. I hear a conversation about things being stinky and Thomas being proud of himself. Then I tell Matt to help Thomas wipe his bum. Thomas instantly argues saying he doesn't need help and an argument starts. Then I hear myself yell something that no mom should say. "Stop fighting over who gets to wipe your bum!" Oh well. Then after that there was...
Silence.
Just silence.
Now as a mom of little kids you know that silence can often be worse than fighting. Actually, let me correct that. Silence followed by giggling can be worse.
Again, do I put the baby down and go inspect? I still opted for choice B and hoped that there wasn't a disgusting mess to clean up. The boys came out of the bathroom and were happy with a job done well. I was happy there was no mess.
Well, except for the water splatters on the bathroom mirror. Why, when they wash their hands, can't they just dry them with a towel instead of shaking them at the mirror? They do try to clean things up though. Like when Thomas tried to clean the bathroom mirror with the toilet bowl brush.

This post totally cracked me up! I'm glad that you didn't have a huge mess to deal with afterwards. :D
Hey Jen. I loved your latest blog. I just read through the last month. I'm glad everything went okay with the delivery. Hang in there with the breastfeeding and lack of sleep.

Oh Jen - that was so dang funny - Good luck, hang in there and don't go crazy (if you can help it).
